EASTHAM BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING

This is a joint meeting of the Orleans and Eastham Board of Health Departments. Introductions of all Board Members were made.

Location is Orleans Town Hall, 19 School Road, Orleans, MA
Baxter Nye Engineering & Surveying presented. The proposed project was reviewed and discussed. The Eastham Board of Health suggested that the plan include Innovative Technology, (I/A) to reduce nitrate nitrogen to 19 mg/L.
The variance hearing was continued to September 24, 2013 with the Eastham Board of Health.
Jane Crowley, Eastham Health Agent provided the following informational updates to both boards:
- Pond Update – Remediation of Great Pond will be conducted in early October. Results from last year’s treatment of Herring Pond have been very positive.
- KI Distribution Program – We have distributed potassium iodide pills to 69 households to date.
- Landfill Update – The work on the next report is ongoing. ES&M is conducting the sampling.
- Other as applicable – Blood pressure clinics are now being conducted at the Eastham Library on the first Tuesday of each month from 10 AM to 1 PM.
